AUTHENTIC PARQUET FLOORING DESIGN
In a Moscow home designed by Denis Perestoronin, the living room is home to intricate parquet floors in oak, rosewood, and ebony. This type of mosaic woodwork is not simple to recreate, but some designers get a similar look with stain and stencils.
STAINED ZIG-ZAG FLOORS
In the living room of interior designer Tony Fornabaio and Joe Lupo’s Manhattan apartment, the walls are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Teal, and Fornabaio designed the stenciled-wood floor.
STAINED STRIPED FLOORS
In a living room designed and renovated by Dick Bories and James Shearron, the fireplace wall is covered in hand-troweled plaster, and the original fir floor has been stained in a stripe pattern.
STAINED LATTICE FLOORS
In a living room by Alex Papachristidis, the custom-made sectional is upholstered in a Schumacher velvet, and the wood floor is hand painted.
STAINED GEOMETRIC FLOORS
In a Manhattan apartment, designer Alex Papachristidis added an eye-catching design to the parquet floors in the foyer, stenciling a pattern of alternating circles and squares.
STENCILED WHITE FLOORS
In the guest room of designer Jeffrey Bilhuber’s Manhattan apartment, the ceiling is lacquered with Benjamin Moore’s Jupiter Glow, and the floor was stenciled by Mark Uriu.
