HOW TO USE PANTONE'S SPRING 2015 COLOR REPORT AT HOME

2014.12.04

The color authority has released their palette for Spring 2015; see how the Pantone hues can be translated easily and chicly for the home.

COLOR: TANGERINE (PANTONE 15-1247)

BRING IT HOME: Try tangerine-colored upholstery to light up an entire room. Feeling extra bold? Pair with gold.

SCUBA BLUE (PANTONE 16-4725)

BRING IT HOME: By using the hue in a bold stripe pattern, either on the walls, on upholstery, or if you're tip-toeing in, a simple throw pillow.

LAVENDER HERB (PANTONE 16-3310)

BRING IT HOME: By bringing it to top and bottom of a room—lavender overhead lighting and a rug create a soothing feel in any room.

AQUAMARINE (PANTONE 14-4313)

BRING IT HOME: With cheery but not-too-bold blue seating in an otherwise dark room.

TREETOP (PANTONE 18-0135)

BRING IT HOME: By bringing it to the walls and pairing it with daring red! (Walls feel like too much? try some mantle accessories in this color pairing.)

CLASSIC BLUE (PANTONE 19-4052)

BRING IT HOME: On your sofa, your rug—really, anywhere. This is one hue you're not likely to get sick of.

PANTONE 14-1213 TOASTED ALMOND

BRING IT HOME: By painting the walls the warm color—especially if there's a great window in the room to floor it with light and keep it from feeling pasty.

CUSTARD (PANTONE 13-0720)

BRING IT HOME: With cheerful but understated bedding.

TITANIUM (PANTONE 17-4014)

BRING IT HOME: With deep gray—with a hint of sparkle!—on the walls. White floors and warm wood pieces in the room will keep it from feeling cold.

LUCITE GREEN (PANTONE 14-5714)

BRING IT HOME: With a breezy pale green rug paired with graphic black-and-white to ground the look.

DUSK BLUE (PANTONE 16-4120)

BRING IT HOME: With moody blue walls. Add in colorful tiles help bring the hue to life.

MARSALA (PANTONE 18-1438)

BRING IT HOME: With a deep red side chair, best placed in rooms with white walls so it can best pop!

SANDSTONE (PANTONE 16-1328)

BRING IT HOME: With teak cabinetry. Too big a commitment? Try smaller kitchen accessories, like bowls or a vase.

STRAWBERRY ICE (PANTONE 16-1720)

BRING IT HOME: With cheery pink wallpaper. Elegant wood furniture in the room keeps it from feeling saccharine.
