2015.08.18
Off-price chain Ross Stores this month is opening 19 Ross Dress for Less and eight dd's Discounts stores in 15 different states.
The additions are part of the retailer’s plan to add up to 90 stores during the year, comprised of about 70 Ross and 20 dd's Discounts.
"These recent openings reflect our ongoing strategy of targeting growth in both established regions and newer markets that we began to enter in 2011,” noted Jim Fassio, president and chief development officer.
The 27 locations just added to Ross’ store count include eight stores in the company’s newer Midwest markets of Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana and Kansas, he added.
“Looking ahead, we continue to see significant expansion opportunities throughout the country, and remain confident that Ross Dress for Less can grow to 2,000 locations and dd's Discounts can become a chain of 500 stores,” Fassio added.
